Luis + BL since 2014
Now: IT coordinator
Then: customer service agent, logistics agent, operations analyst
The beginning: What started as a two-week replacement for a friend that worked in the customer support department turned into four different positions over seven amazing years.
A fond memory: My first few weeks at BonLook coincided with the company’s first two sales in Québec and I was tasked with handling the shipping labels. I managed to mix up the two labels on the orders destined for our very first home-province customers. Thankfully, everyone was understanding, and we now get to laugh about it!
Tania + BL since 2013
Now: creative director
Then: art director
The beginning: I found an appealing job posting for a company I wasn’t familiar with – I loved my meeting with Sophie and immediately decided to go for it!
Fond memories: So many to choose from! It’s hard to pick between our (not so successful) experiences working with exotic animals on photoshoots, the time I made a way-too-strong punch at one of our pop-up events, or the 3 Boomerang prizes I was completely unexpectedly awarded after a year at BonLook!
Éric + BL since 2016
Now: laboratory technician
Then: customer service agent
The beginning: I was told about a job in customer service from a friend who was already in the department. At the time, I thought it would be temporary, but I ended up learning more and more about optics and have since been at the BonLook laboratory and loving it.
Guylaine + BL since 2014
Now: order flow coordinator
Then: customer service agent, customer service supervisor
The beginning: I applied online without thinking too much of it and was pleasantly surprised by the interviewer’s openness. I fell in love with the team and the workspace as soon as I started.
Élie + BL since 2014
Now: IT product owner
Then: customer service agent, retail operations manager, IT coordinator
The beginning: I had never heard of BonLook, and I applied so I could have a temporary job while still looking for something in my field. So glad I took that customer service job!
Audrey + BL since 2015
Now: assistant manager at DIX30
Then: kiosk stylist, kiosk manager
The beginning: I saw that there was a start-up near my home that was looking for employees. I walked over the same day and introduced myself!
Fond memories: Our Promenades des Cathédrales kiosk happened to be right on the path of a guided tour of Montreal’s “Underground City”. At least once a week we’d be surrounded by dozens of tourists, trying to hear our customers over the noise. Another perk of that kiosk’s location (in the middle of a hallway) was that people constantly confused us with an information booth – I can now guide anyone to the Linen Chest with eyes closed!
Myra + BL since 2015
Now: district manager for Western Quebec
Then: operations coordinator, client services director
The beginning: A friend of mine found out about an open position at BonLook through a networking event and referred me. It turned out to be a love match!
Guillaume + BL since 2016
Now: regional optician advisor for Quebec
Then: optician (in most of our Greater Montreal stores!), lead technical and optical advisor
The beginning: I had been enjoying Montreal as a tourist for a few months and decided to get a work permit to stay longer. I often visited friends at Château Saint-Ambroise and that’s how I stumbled upon BonLook by accident! I applied and both parties were charmed!
Fond memories: On my way to a convention for ophthalmic professionals on behalf of BonLook I missed my flight (the last of the day!) and ended up stuck at the airport! But maybe I shouldn’t be revealing that. Also, far be it from me to encourage flirting on the job, but I did meet my girlfriend 4 years ago thanks to BonLook – she came in for an adjustment, and the rest is history.
Andréanne + BL since 2014
Now: communications and public relations project manager
Then: customer service agent, communications coordinator
The beginning: A friend of mine who worked at BonLook was looking for someone to handle the new showroom and provide customer service. I had just graduated and took it on as a temporary job. Six years later and I’m still here!
Rajbir + BL since 2016
Now: national optician manager
Then: optician (Toronto Eaton Centre), head optician for Ontario
The beginning: A friend of mine who worked in the offices above the Eaton Centre sent me a photo of the storefront while it was under construction. I looked up the company and found a presentation from Sophie on YouTube – I loved the fashion-forward and industry disruptive business model, so I applied immediately.
